June 30, 1936 - September 3, 2021
Frances “Fran” Dee Moore, With heavy hearts, we regret to share that Fran passed away on Thursday September 3rd, 2021. Thankfully, she passed away peacefully with her family and close friends at her side. She was a loving and cherished daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, many people. She is survived by her children, Don Moore, DeeDee Riley, Mike Moore and Janet Llach. Fran had a very large family between her four children, her sons & daughter-in-law’s, 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She lived a full, beautiful life she was proud of and thankful for. Frances “Fran” Dee Moore was born on June 30, 1936, in Los Angeles, California to Sam and Clara Collette. In 1954 Fran married Don at 18 years old in Southern California. Their teenage love affair was truly a classic love story until the very end and one that will live on in everyone that was a part of it. In 1961 they moved their family to a small rural community called Rough & Ready in Northern California. They quickly established roots in the community through their Catholic faith and support of their children in school, sports, 4H and FFA. In 1983 they moved to Dillon, Montana and immediately became deeply ingrained in their new community. Fran and Don were known by everyone in the Dillion area and across Western Montana. Fran’s family was always her number one priority- she lived and breathed through every single one of them every day of her life and was so proud of all of them. Fran lost her husband of 66 years and the love of her life, Don, exactly one year ago to the day that she passed. Their passionate fire for one another burned until their last moments and even beyond Don’s passing, for Fran. Fran loved and treated Papa Don like a king, and he reciprocated with a lifetime commitment of love, dedication, and admiration. Fran was the matriarch and foundation for her very large and growing family. She had a legendary and timeless beauty that only enhanced with age. She quietly provided the base of strength and guidance they all benefited from over her many years. She loved her husband and family so deeply and they were so proud of the family they had created together. Her cooking was something she poured her heart and soul into and something that brought her cherished family together. Our mother and grandmother Fran Moore will be so deeply missed by her family, her church, the Dillon community, as well as the many long-time friends whose hearts she touched everywhere she went. Though we selfishly wanted her to stay, we know she is at peace with Don getting to watch over her beautiful family with the love of her life. May God bless and keep you, Fran. We love you always. The family is planning a service for Fran in the late spring of 2022.
