Heaven became a brighter place on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
William ("Homer") George Allen passed away in Dillon, MT. Saying Bill was one-of-a-kind is an understatement.
He was born on October 10, 1957, to Bill and Donna Allen. Bill was the oldest of three, having two younger sisters, Debbie Fross and Dawn Allen. If he wasn't tormenting his sisters there was definitely something wrong.
Our home was next to Stephen's Greenhouse in Dillon. At three-years old he told the then-owner of Stephens, Burl Stephens, that when Burl passed away he would run the business. He solidified his fate at that moment. Bill, in fact, did become the owner of Stephens Greenhouse with his wife, Jennifer. He later sold that business and owned Allen's Landscape for a number of years. His landscaping designs were featured in national magazines which included Architectural Digest, Cowboys and Indians, and In Doors. He worked for many of the rich and famous that have purchased property in Montana.
Bill went through the Dillon school system where he excelled in sports, both basketball and football. He went on to play football for Western Montana College, majoring in Biology with Botany and Chemistry minors. After college, Bill married Jennifer Brown (later divorced in 2000) and they were blessed with two children, Adrienne and Jeff. Along with his children, Bill was instrumental in the lives of his nieces, nephews and friend's kids. He was always the fun Uncle. He could talk his nephew, Corey Eisenzimer, into doing just about anything (not always a good thing!) Bill had a love for life that not many could match.
In 2017, Bill married the love of his life, Teresa Moad. His family grew by three beautiful daughters and eight grandchildren. He loved traveling to visit them and corrupting a new generation. In their short nine-years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling and exploring the great outdoors. They enjoyed giving each other a bad time and playing endless games of gin rummy and Marbles and Jokers. Bill, being Bill, kept track of how many times he won and lost.
Bill was also known for his love of the great outdoors. His father, Bill Allen, Sr., was one of his best friends and they spent countless hours hiking into all the 'hidden lakes', along with snowmobiling, motorbiking, and camping. Bill's lifelong best friend, Steve Cottom, was with them on a lot of those trips.
Bill will be missed for his ability to tell stories, his love for family and friends, and most of all for his love for life. It was truly admirable watching him maneuver through the horrible journey of cancer. His positive, up-beat attitude kept him going when others would have given up. Life will not be the same without Bill by our side. His friends and family will cherish all the fun and special memories we had with him while wishing he was still here with us.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother and father, Bill and Donna Allen; grandparents George and Evelyn "GaGa" Krause; Perk and Alice Allen; Aunt Julie Krause and grandson Corbin Kenison. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Allen; children Adrienne Kenison and Jeff (Kalli) Allen; stepchildren Michelle Roberts, Micaela (Matt) Hitchcock, Angela (Matt) Groves; grandchildren, Aiden, Nick, Olivia, Hadley, Anja, Mason, Garrison, Adaline, Trysten, Avah, Quinn, Makenna; sisters, Debbie (Cole) Fross and Dawn Allen (Bruce Parker); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Lewis and Clark room at Western Montana College in Dillon, MT from 11:00 - 2:00 pm. Keeping with Bill's wishes, a portion of his ashes will be scattered at Long Creek in the Blacktail.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to be sent to Beaverhead County High School for a Bill Allen sports scholarship. If you are interested, please send to: BCHS, Bill Allen Scholarship, 104 North Pacific, Dillon, MT 59725.
