Velda Jones

August 14, 1940 — August 31, 2023

Velda “Lee” Jones, 84, of Dillon, Montana, passed away Thursday, August 31st, 2023 in the company of her loving family.

Lee was born August 14, 1940, to Don and Jeanne (LeClair) Robinette in Ballentine, MT. She was raised on a ranch in the Huntley area and graduated from high school in 1958. She met Bruce, the love of her life in 1954. The couple was married on June 6, 1959. Shortly after marriage Bruce and Lee moved to Dillon to start their family. They had three Adonis like sons between the years of 1960 and 1971. Michael Scott, Robert Brett and Brady Jay respectively.

Lee lived her entire life as a fierce and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Anyone who knew her can attest to this. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh that would make everyone in the room smile.

Lee worked many jobs in Dillon such as with Dr. English , The Printing Place, Kings/Gambles and others. Lee was well known for her dedicated work ethic and her infectious sense of humor.

In her free time she enjoyed camping and searching for artifacts and purple glass in the Horse Prairie. She loved going to the Crow Agency fair outside of Hardin. She also loved traveling to the southwest to see the native American sites.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce, sons Scott (Sue) Jones of Dillon, Rob (Karolee) Jones of Dillon and Brady (Chantel) Jones of Boise, ID and grandchildren, Coley Jones, Brooke Jones, Jennifer Oxley, Taylor Jones, Piper Jones and Quinn Jones, along with several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Susan (Gary) Brewington and brother, Doug (Anna) Jones as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be made to The Beaverhead Animal Shelter or to the Renaissance Senior Care center .

No services are scheduled at this time as Lee was not a big fan of the winter. Instead, there will be a celebration of life scheduled in the warm, bright sunny spring (just as she liked it). Notification and invitations will be sent prior.
