Roger Eugene Cox, 94, of Polaris, Montana, passed away Tuesday, January 9th, 2024, at Barrett Hospital surrounded by family. Roger was born November 7, 1929, to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Genter) Cox in Greenville, OH. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1947. He married the love of his life on February 6, 1948.
In 1958, he was asked to accompany a hunting group coming to the Dillon area. He hunted with a camera and really liked the area and people. This led to family vacations that everyone enjoyed.
Roger and Marjorie moved to Polaris in 1975 and felt right at home. Roger was a caring concerned man who made lasting friends everywhere he went. After he retired from R.E. Miller company, he was still busy. Either he was fixing something, creating and building something, or helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Larry and Marion, and his father and mother in-law, Melvin and Esther Cruze.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, sons; Stanley (Carol) and Stuart (Dianna) Cox. Grandchildren; Lori (Scott) Billenstein, Traci (Charles) Hinshaw, Holly (Cameron) Maddey, Victor (Jessica) Cox, and Kristy Brewer. Great Grandchildren; Jessica (Kyle) Westrick, Allison Billenstein, Cody (Suzanne) Spencer, Kaylee and Moira Maddey, Adam Krueger, Madison Bender, and Jacob and Cheyenne Hinshaw. Great Great Grandchildren: Maverick and Noel Spencer, Jackson and Carter Westrick. Many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Grasshopper Valley Volunteer Fire Department in Roger's name.
There will be no funeral services scheduled at this time.
