Roberta Jo "Bobbie" Dawson

January 2, 1951 — December 27, 2023

Butte, Montana

Roberta Jo "Bobbie" Dawson died on December 27, 2023.

Bobbie was born to Steven and Margery Manley on January 02, 1951. She was the second child born to the pair and eventually had four younger siblings. She graduated from Butte High School in 1969. Bobbie was married in 1971 to Charles Dawson and gave birth to her daughter Vonnie, in 1972, before the couple separated in 1973. Around the same time, Bobbie began working as a Home Maker for Francis Joseph and his family. She became a mother-figure to his three children while also raising her own daughter. Bobbie returned to school in 1992 and received an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Montana Tech allowing her to work for AFLCIO as an Administrative Assistant for several years. Even after all the children had left the house, Bobbie remained with Francis and the two forged a strong companionship until his death in 2021.

In her free time, Bobbie excelled at ceramics, gardening, knitting, crafts, and just about any other hobby that required time and finesse. She was also known for her skills in the kitchen and her ability to throw anything together and make it taste gourmet. She learned much about Lebanese food from the Joseph family and became one of the best chefs of Lebanese cuisine in the family. Bobbie also loved collecting antiques and was proud of her extensive camel collection.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Diane Fawcett and Macy Nicholson; nephew, JD Fawcett; and long-time companion, Francis Joseph.

She is survived by her daughter Vonnie Williams; Grandchildren, Keegan (Amber), Jaron, Ethan, and Ava Williams; great-grandson, Reagan; siblings, Sheila (Roger) Hanson, Lori Robison, and Steve Manley; several nieces and nephews; and honorary family and caregivers, Tammie, Frank (Sherrie and Family), Bonnie (and Family) Joseph.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Bobbies honor to the Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter.

Per her wishes, there will be no public services. A private service will be held in the spring.
