Philip Turner

Philip Martin Turner passed away at home on January 17, 2016 from cancer. Phil was born on February 12, 1938 in Hesperia California. He lived the first part of his life in and around Hesperia, a lot on his grandfather’s ranch. He later worked with his brother Gary and his Uncles on the Los Flores Ranch as he went through school. After high school he served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1961. Phil married Nancy Jo Einboden, his high school sweetheart, in 1961. After the Navy he worked for the Railroad for a while, then he hired on at the Phone Company in Victorville, CA. He transferred with the Phone Company to Yerington, NV where they raised their family. While working at the phone company they had a small ranch and later an Ice Cream Parlor. After 30 years with the phone company he retired and moved his whole family in 1994 to Dillon, MT. They bought the Big Buck Sporting Goods and the family worked there for a few years. He and his family always loved camping, fishing and hunting and so Dillon was a good place to be. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Turner and his mother Gladys Lewis & step-father Charles Lewis; and his son Clinton Turner and his son Matthew Turner. Also his sisters Shirley Turner McPherson, Virgie Lewis and Clelta Lewis Cook. He is survived by his wife Nancy of 54 years, his son Phil Jr (Shanda) Turner and daughterNatalie (Mike) English of Dillon, MT, Daughter in law Tiffany Turner of Pingree, ID and his extra son Paul Marshall of Dillon. Also his 15 grandchildren and 10 Great grandchildren with two more on the way. Also a brother Gary Turner (Marjeanne) of Hungry Horse, MT & Charles Lewis of Oregon. He will be missed by many other family and friends.There will be a funeral service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Thursday January 21st. A viewing from 5PM until 5:45PM and the service at 6PM. He will be interred at the Mountain View Cemetery on Friday Jan 22 at 9 AM. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the Barrett Hospital Hospice or a charity of your choice.
