Peggy Lou Mooney Coleman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away September 24th, 2026, in Spokane WA. In her final days she was comforted by family and passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Peggy was born on January 24th, 1959, in Dillon, Montana to parents Francis and Esther Mooney. She was the youngest of four children. Growing up, Peggy loved being with her father Francis on the ranch and had an affinity for horses. She enjoyed participating in projects and activities in 4-H with her mother Esther.
Peggy graduated from Beaverhead County Highschool in 1977. She went on to attend college as one of the only female engineering students in her class. She met her first husband and had two children, Jeremy Fadness and Sandra Fadness. Peggy returned to Dillon in 1984 to be closer to family.
Peggy met the love of her life Mike Coleman in June 1984, and they had their first date on the 4th of July at George Town Lake. Shortly thereafter they were married in Leodore ID, on September 15th, 1984.
The following year Amber Lynn Coleman was born on August 30th, 1985. During this time Peggy took great pride in being the first employee at Great Harvest Bread and it was one of her greatest honors to remain close friends with Pete and Laura Wakeman for the rest of her life.
In 1987 Mike and Peggy packed up the caravan and moved to Connecticut. Within a few months they welcomed their fourth and final child Jennifer Monney Coleman on March 24th, 1988. Over the next 6 years they opened and operated two Great Harvest Bread bakeries while raising their family. With the passing of Peggy's father Francis, the family moved back to Dillon to help Esther run the ranch. Following the sale of the ranch in 1997 Mike and Peggy purchased Subway Sandwiches in Dillon, which they owned and operated for 24 years. Peggy took great pride in running Subway and by her own words "It wasn't about the business, it was that I made a difference."
During these years she also worked tirelessly behind the scenes for Mike Coleman Construction and owned and managed several rental properties.
When Peggy wasn't working, she could be found traveling around the world, spending time with family and friends, riding her Harley, and hitting every 70's rock concert she possibly could. After the sale of Subway in 2022 Peggy continued her work with Mike Coleman Construction but made time with family her priority.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Esther Mooney, and her brother Thomas Mooney. Peggy is survived by her husband Michael J Coleman of Dillon, MT, her son Jeremy Fadness and wife Janet Fadness of Helena, MT, daughter Sandra (Fadness)Jelly and husband Randy Jelly of Gillette, WY, daughter Amber(Coleman) Cornelius and husband Jordan Cornelius of Bend, OR, daughter Jennifer(Coleman) Emery and husband Steven Emery of Spokane WA, grandchildren Kyle Fadness and wife Libby Fadness, Cassie(Wharton)Carlson and husband Josh Carlson, Alex Fadness, Hailey Fadness and husband Mason Walker, Ayanna Eney, Taylor Cornelius, Rozlynn Seyler, Brilee Seyler, Jayce Cornelius, and Owen Emery, and one great grandchild Theodore Fadness.
