Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Margaret "Margy" Woodard passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at her home in Dillon, Montana.
Margaret was born on October 6, 1947 in Long Beach, California. The first child of Robert and Patricia Schuveiller, she grew up in Long Beach with her eight brothers and sisters. After graduating from St. Anthony's High School, she received a scholarship to study at Santa Clara University, where she would meet her future husband, Bill Woodard from Pasadena, California.
Margy and Bill married in 1969 and moved to Oklahoma where Bill was stationed in the Army. It was in Oklahoma where Nicole - their first child - was born on October 21, 1971. Margaret effortlessly stepped into her role as a new mother and cherished every minute of it.
After Bill's discharge from the Army, they eventually settled down in Temple City, California where sons, Bill (1973), Matthew (1975), and Patrick (1979) were born.
Margaret obtained a registered nursing degree and worked for Los Angeles County Hospital for 33 years in Labor and Delivery as a Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, and ultimately became a Certified Nurse Midwife Nurse Practitioner. Margaret touched the lives of countless women and their babies through her compassion and adoration for the birth experience. Additionally, Margaret's natural ability to serve others and share her wisdom allowed her to educate and mentor student nurses as an Adjunct Professor at Azusa Pacific University.
A devoted mother for many years while her children were growing up, Margy made the sacrifice of working the night shift so she could be home during the day for her children and be able to attend all of their games and other events.
After retiring, Bill and Margy began spending more time in Dillon, Montana, where they established a home and Margy spent many idyllic days in that beautiful place with her beloved golden retriever, Chloe, by her side.
As the oldest sibling, Margy's younger brothers and sisters were always an important part of her life, and she loved visiting with them and catching up on their families and all their adventures.
Margy is survived by her husband, Bill, her daughter, Nicole and her husband, Joe Ringo, her sons Bill (wife Lindsay), Matthew (wife Carla), and Patrick (wife Nicole), and her grandchildren Andrea (and her husband Matt), Bella, Tara, Gavin, Sophia, Lila, Chloe, and Luke. She is also survived by sisters Barbara Vaughn and Nancy Patel and brothers David, Tom, Mike, and Patrick Schuveiller.
In the near future, please join us as we come together to honor and celebrate the life of Margaret Mary Woodard (date, time, and location to be announced). We will share memories, stories, and moments that we shared together.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue: https://scgrrescue.org/donate/ in Margaret Mary Woodard's honor.
