Louis Andrew Kluesner
May 26,1932-February 24,2026
Louis Andrew Kluesner, 93, of Lima Montana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 24, 2026, at Barrett Memorial Hospital.
Lou was born in Blackfoot Idaho to William and Cora Kluesner. He attended Lima School up until the 12th grade where he worked at various jobs. Lou met the love of his life, Diane in 1965, in Missoula, Montana. He was working as a meat cutter at a grocery store and Diane worked in the bakery. What started out as a dare from Lou's co-workers, to ask Diane out on a date, turned into 4 days short of 60 years of marriage. Excited to start their lives together, they were married on February 28, 1966 in Coeur d'Alene Idaho.
They spent the next 12 years in Whitefish Montana where they started to build their family. They moved to Lima in 1979 as he secured a job at the Lima School, where he was a bus driver and custodian for many years. Lou and Diane raised three children Patrick (deceased), whom Lou adopted, Chris, and Megan.
Lou was involved in many organizations and the community. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and started the Boy Scouts for the church during his time in Whitefish. He was enlisted in the National Guard until he was discharged due to having the mumps. He was part of the Lima Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance and he was also a Hunter Safety instructor for many years. He was a member of the Meat Cutters Association and even had his own meat shop at his home where he loved to process meat during hunting season.
Everyone who knew Lou knew how much he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and wood working. He had a love for rodeos, especially bull riding. But most importantly he loved his family of 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Gertrude Becker, Frank Kluesner, and Carl Kluesner. He is survived by his loving wife Diane; children, Chris (Denise) Kluesner, Megan (John) Keller, Calvin (Janet) Kluesner, Lloyd (Betsy) Kluesner, Allan (Denise) Kluesner, Cindy (Dave) Brown; siblings Anna May Cheney, Louise Wingert, Fred Kluesner, Rose Comstock, and John Kluesner.
Services will be held at the LDS Church in Lima Montana on March 21, 2026 Visitation at 10 A.M. Funeral at 11 A.M. with a luncheon to follow Donations can be made to the Lima Fire Department.
