Joy Britton, 76, died Monday, May 6, 2024 in Dillon, Montana. She was home with her daughter and husband. A memorial service will be held in her honor Saturday, July 20, 2024, 11AM at Big Sky Missionary Baptist Church, 3148 MT HWY-91, Dillon, MT 59725. Pastor Ken Gilchrist officiating.

Joy was born July 20, 1947, in Napa County, California to Victor (Vic) A. Merth and Ester Mae Merth (Leslie). She graduated from Gabriel Academy, San Gabriel, CA in June 1965. In 1966, Joy attended courses at San Mateo City College in California to advance her experience and expertise in computer and office machinery. In 2003, Joy graduated from Faith Bible Institute. She has owned and operated a successful photography business. Joy was an accomplished, dependable, and trustworthy administrative assistant she worked at some well-known businesses through the years including the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT), Summet Valley Title Co, both in Butte, MT, HazelBaker Title Co, in Dillon, and finally Vigilante Electric Cooperative, from which she retired in 2020.

Joy has always been a quiet and reserved woman. However, behind the silence and beautiful timid smile resided a wealth of knowledge, fountain of faith and passion to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her witness and ministry meant so much to her; she lived her life as a servant of The Lord. Joy is survived by her husband George Britton, daughter Amy Dingfield, siblings Judith Brainard, Jennifer Hickman, and Jon M. Merth, two grandchildren Ada and Levi Dingfield, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and stepson Richard Britton.
