Joshua Richard Taylor

October 2, 1988 — September 25, 2026

Dillon

Joshua Richard Taylor was born on October 2, 1988, in Dillon, Montana, to Craig and Jackie Taylor. The youngest of three, Josh completed their family alongside his older siblings, Jacob and Nicole. He grew up in Dillon and graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 2007. He went on to attend The University of Montana Western, graduating on May 7, 2014, with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Politics and Legal Studies. On September 18, 2021, he married Kathryn White. He loved her deeply, and she meant the world to him.

Through his college years, Josh worked with his Dad at Taylor Construction and Design. In 2016, Josh began working at Frontline Ag Solutions as a salesman and technician and was a valued member of the team. He cared about his customers and was there to help, whether something broke down, they needed help learning how to use a new machine, had a question, or they were looking for something new. He enjoyed working with his customers and, through his job, met so many people throughout the community, forming friendships along the way. He was a hard worker and cared about being someone people could count on.

Josh loved talking to people and could have a conversation with just about anyone. He genuinely enjoyed getting to know people and hearing what was going on in other people's lives. He always stayed connected with his family and friends. He was great at reaching out to check in, and he loved telling everyone how great his friends were. Whenever someone needed help, Josh was there no matter what the situation was. He never hesitated to lend a hand, often without even being asked.

Josh had a big personality and had a way of making everything more fun. Josh loved to tease, joke, and banter, and his sense of humor was a big part of what made him Josh. He also had a talent for giving gifts. He was the best at it. He put so much thought into what he chose and found joy in finding something he knew someone would love. He enjoyed giving gifts far more than receiving them.

Josh loved the outdoors. As a kid, he loved fishing, camping, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. In high school, he wrestled and played football. As he got older, he enjoyed hiking to lakes, going on RZR rides, golfing, skiing, and recently, taking adventures in his Jeep. He loved snowmobiling, especially the times he spent doing it with his Dad and friends. He also loved his animals, Bo, Nala, and Lulu. They were truly his babies.

Josh was a lifelong Raiders fan and stayed loyal year after year. He enjoyed fantasy football and especially loved being the commissioner of his Montana Keeper fantasy football league. He put a lot of work into making it fun for everyone, and every team owner was a friend. He took his job as commissioner seriously, and football season was his favorite time of year! Whether it was fantasy football or at work, he loved "wheelin' and dealin'!"

Josh was a loving son and brother. His family was a very important part of his life. He showed his love for his parents by spending time with them and being there to help whenever they needed him. He loved being with them, whether it was celebrating holidays and special occasions, spending time together in Elkhorn, helping his Dad on the farm, watching football together, or cooking and having them over for dinner. He especially enjoyed cooking dinner in Elkhorn for the entire family.

Josh was a fun and loving uncle. He knew what was going on in his nieces' and nephews' lives and made a point of being part of their lives. He loved giving them a hard time and made sure he was their favorite uncle!

Josh's life ended far too soon, but the life he lived touched an entire community. He made people laugh, showed up when people needed him, and left an impression on so many people through the countless little things he did for others. His sense of humor was always present, and there will be so many stories, memories, and moments that will continue to make people smile when they think of him.

He will be deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten. Josh will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends, and we look forward to the day we can see him again.

Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dick Roberts, Sylvia Roberts, DeMar and Joan Taylor; his uncles, Danny Roberts and Art Mautz; and his great-grandparents, Harold and Bernice Currell, Jack and Florence Roberts, Dan Ibey, and Sybil Ibey.

Josh is survived by his parents, Craig and Jackie Taylor; his brother, Jacob Taylor and his wife, Airlynn, and their children, Kambria and Pierce; and his sister, Nicole Taylor Steed, her husband, Matthew, and their children, Justin, Logan, and Emily. He will also be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, close friends, and all those who knew and loved him.
