Gary Wayne Thornton
Aug 17, 1954 --- Jan 02, 2024
Gary Wayne Thornton passed away January 2nd 2024 with his loving wife Debbie; and the forever faithful dog Dakota by his side.
Gary was born August 17th 1954 to James E. and Beverly Thornton in Gardner Massachusetts. The family later moved to Montana and Gary, as a young man found his way to Dillon Montana where he worked on the railroad for 22 years. After the railroad, he worked in a sawmill, and did some odd mechanic and construction jobs, before retiring after 18 years from Nutracea.
Gary was a kind and loving man; in 1989, by chance, he met his soul mate Debbie. They lived and loved immensely for 34 incredible years.
Gary enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting, going to the mountains, and taking Debbie fishing at Kelly Lake. He could fix anything and was an exceptional mechanic. His home and yard was always decorated with his skillfully made handy work. Gary and Debbie purchased property that was once a gravel pit. Hard work and vision turned a gravel pit, into a beautifully terraced yard and homesite.
Gary is survived by his wife Debbie, a stepson Levi Wayman (Stephanie and Regan) a son Josh, and daughter Sara; that live in Washington State.
I thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday,
and days before that too,
I think of you in silence
I often speak your name,
All I have are memories
and your picture in a frame,
Your memory is my keepsake
with which I'll never part;
God has you in His keeping
I have you in my heart..
