Gary Marchesseau

Gary Brent Marchesseau passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2023 at his home in Dillon, Mont. He was 66 years old.
Gary was born in Dillon on February 3, 1957 to Erwin “Bud” and Afton (Koontz) Marchesseau. He was the second of three children and attended school in Dillon, later graduating from Beaverhead County High School.
He married the love of his life, Wilma Hubbard, on April 19, 1980. The couple made their home together in Dillon where, in 1985, they welcomed their daughter Valerie into the world. Gary always enjoyed working with his hands and, after high school, joined the family business, Bud’s Plumbing & Heating. He learned the plumbing and heating trade and, together with his father and brother, ran a successful plumbing and heating business which serviced the surrounding community for many years. After selling the business in 2006, Gary continued to work as a plumbing and heating specialist in Dillon until his retirement.
An avid outdoorsman, Gary loved Montana and never turned down the opportunity to spend a day in the mountains, a love he happily shared with the younger generations of his family. In his free time, he was often hunting, fishing or exploring the wilderness either on foot or an ATV, knowing much of the terrain around the Beaverhead and Grasshopper Valleys by heart.
Gary also had a special place in his heart for those in need. He was known to extend kindness and a helping hand to both people and animals, never wanting recognition or expecting thanks in return. It was this type of kindness which brought light to those around him and earned him the love and respect of so many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gary is survived by his loving wife Wilma (Hubbard) Marchesseau of Dillon; daughter Valerie Marquez and husband, Brad, of Dillon; grandson Nic Marquez of Dillon; brother Frank Marchesseau and wife, Donna, of Reno, Nev.; sister Marty Cypher and husband, Dan, of Dillon; and his loving nephews and nieces.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Brundage Funeral Home in Dillon.
