Fred William Fletcher of Dillon, Montana, passed away on February 18, 2026, at Barrett Hospital. He was born on October 4, 1937, in Bedford, Indiana, to Fred Luther Fletcher and Jeanette Fletcher, joining his older sister Thelma Cook.

 After graduating from high school, he served in the National Guard. In 1960, he married Phyllis Wampler. Together, they had two children: Fred R. Fletcher and Susan Fletcher. He spent the majority of his career working for the U.S. Postal Service in Bloomington, Indiana.

 In 1996, Fred married Edith (Hodge) Bleuer. After experiencing Montana and falling in love with it, they relocated to Dillon in 2012. He was passionate about golf, hunting, and fishing. A dedicated Christian, he most recently attended Dillon First Baptist Church. Fred was cherished by his family and numerous friends, and his absence will be deeply felt.

 He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter, along with four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister.

 A memorial service will be held at a later date.
