Edith Joanne Meier

     Edith Joanne Meier of Dillon, Montana passed away January 18, 2024, at Barrett Hospital and Healthcare.

     Joanne, as she was known by, was born on April 22, 1940 in Butte, Montana. In 1958 Joanne graduated from Beaverhead County High School. She went on to graduate from Nursing School in Anchorage, Alaska.

     Joanne married Carl "Bud" Meier on January 24, 1966. They moved to Dillon, Montana in 1978.

     Joanne worked for many years within the nursing field, which allowed her to travel and spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed many interests like bowling, playing cards with family friends, crocheting and most of all camping trips with Bud. Joanne's greatest joy was her family and watching her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren grow.

     Joanne is proceeded in death by her mother and father Rex and Edith Clark; sibling William Clark; her son David Rex Meier; and grandson Christopher Hight.

     She is survived by her daughters, Teri Meier, Dillon, Montana, Edie (Steve) Stepura, Poulsbo, Washington, Melynda (Steve) Vraspir, Billings, Montana; nephew Kent Meier, Fairbanks, Alaska; first cousin Ed Nopp and best friend Ina Cain; grandchildren, Amber Hight (Scott), Kirsten (Josh) Geiger, Justin and Jessica Stepura, Merissa (Gavin) Melichar, Emilie (Nolan) Frank and Hannah Vraspir; great grandchildren, Zane, Tessa, Haley, Cooper, Jaxon, Klara and Cohen. Along with many other family members who are not mentioned.

     The family will be holding a private ceremony in honor of Joanne at a later date.

     Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children in Joanne's honor.
