Donald Gregovich

Donald (Don) Gregovich was born in Butte, Montana to Mike and Ann (Sporich) Gregovich on April 18, 1936. Don attended grade school in Butte and in 1950 moved with his parents and grandfather, John Gregovich, to Dillon Montana where the family purchased the Dillon Bar and Hotel.

Don attended Beaverhead County High School, graduating in 1954. The day after graduation he left Dillon for San Antonio, Texas to begin his career in the United States Air Force.

Don married his high school sweetheart, Carolee Bonneau, on August 6, 1955 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Their four children: Connie, Daniel, Cynthia, Donald Jr. (Mike) were born in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Don's career took him to South Dakota, Florida, Michigan, Okinawa, South Carolina, Vietnam, South Korea, Philippians, and Guam with retirement in Spokane, Washington on 1-1-1977.

In 1983, Don came out of retirement and returned to Dillon to begin his second career as a Traven owner. Don and Carolee owned and managed the Dillon Hotel and Bar until August 2012.

Health challenges had Don enter into care at the Pioneer Care and Rehabilitation in 2019, with sometime at the Legacy Assisted Living facility where he received excellent care.

Don was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sisters Elsie Greogvich and Irene Vert, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his step father Matt Plute.

Don is survived by his four children Connie Wohrle of Carolina Beach, North Carolina, Dan Gregovich (and wife Rita) of Spokane, Washington, Cynthia Gregovich of Mountlake Terrace, Washington, and Donald Gregovich Jr. (Mike) of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Don is also survived by his sister-in-law and husband, Robin and Arne Kallestad, grandson Christopher Oliver, great grandchildren Meygan Oliver and Marissa Foisy-Oliver, nieces Barb Sinclair and Pam Applegate.

Don and family would appreciate any memorials to be sent to a Veteran's organization of your choice.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
