David Alan Maki age 76, passed away on November 8, 2023, in Bozeman, MT. after a brief illness.
He was born on June 16, 1947, in Hancock Michigan to Barney J. Maki and Edna I. Maki. He was raised in Butte MT. graduating from Butte High School in 1965. He joined the Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam. He was proud of his military service.
In 1969, he met the love of his life, Patricia Padrotti, they married on April 4, 1970.
He worked many jobs including Montana Pole Plant, Stoltze Land and Lumber, and eventually retired as Plant Manager at Rice Bran Technologies.
He was an avid Elvis, Boston Red Sox, and New England Patriots fan. His greatest joys besides spending time with his family and friends were hunting, fishing, camping, and just being in the mountains. He also spent most of his retirement life working in his garage, yard, and garden. There was nothing he couldn't fix; if it were broken, he would rather fix it than buy something new.
Dave is survived by his wife Patricia Maki of 53 years, son Gregory (Krysta) Maki, daughter Dawn (Bill) Klumpp, sisters Jane (Tim) Lacey, Ginger (Tom) Weinheimer, granddaughters Anna and Ellie Maki, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, brother Barney R. (Charmaine) Maki, sisters Sharon Baldwin, Marlene Johnson and Sandy (Larry) Rooney.
Per his request there will be no services. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery on Monday November 20th, 2023.
