Cynthia J. White (Harris), age 75, passed away on January 26, 2026. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 13,1950. Cynthia lived a life marked by quiet strength and deep love for those around her. Cynthia graduated with her Master's degree in nursing from Purdue University, with honors, in 1973. She worked for Barrett's Hospital in Dillon as the Director of Physician Services for many years and most recently worked in the Dillon Farm Bureau Financial Services office. She found her greatest joy outdoors, especially in the company of horses and dogs. Time spent outside brought her peace, and animals held a special place in her heart. Cynthia had a gift for making people feel seen and welcomed. Whether through conversation, laughter, or simple acts of care, she left an impression that lingered long after moments had passed. She valued family, cherished close friendships, and believed in showing up for the people she loved.
Cynthias first love exposure to horses came at a young age of 8. At a horse farm in central Indiana the owner assisted Cynthia to get up on a horse that was around 14 hands tall. Her Italian mother told she needed to get down from there! But her equestrianism was planted and continued to grow from there.
Her love for dogs was all throughout her life. Her family dogs were always collies. From Cynthias birth until her teenage years, there was a collie in the Harris home. Cynthia has had many dog " in her life, all deeply loved for their unique personalities.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband (Tom) and son (Jameson). Her parents Edward and Rose Harris. Her older brother William Harris.
She is survived by family, Thom (brother) and Nancy Harris. Hannah (niece) and her children, KeAnna, Keegan and Katrianna. Seth (nephew) and Renee Harris and their son Elijah. Also, a multitude of friends who will continue to honor her memories and the life she lived.
A service to celebrate Cynthias life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to be made to the Humane Society or to a charity of the donors choice.
