Charles (Chuck) G. Larsen was born January 14, 1940, to Evar and Nona Larsen in Omaha, Nebraska. He started out on the family farm in Grant, Nebraska, until he was 12 years old when the family moved into Omaha. In high school, he played baseball and would have been scouted for a "farm" team but Chuck had already enlisted in the Marine Corps. He shipped to boot camp after graduating and spent most of his contract in Okinawa, Japan. After he was discharged, he immediately went to an Army recruiter where he signed up to go to Army Officer Candidate School. Chuck graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant in the artillery branch. He spent 7 years before leaving service as a Captain.
Chuck bounced between several jobs and businesses before starting a trucking business, eventually owning and managing 5 trucks. From there, he moved to Bozeman, Montana, where he earned his insurance license. This led to him meeting Evelyn McNinch on one of his sales trips. They hit it off and were married on February 2, 1985. He moved onto the ranch at the head of Big Sheep Creek outside of Dell, Montana. Chuck lived there helping on the ranch until it sold in 1993 when he and his family moved to nearby Lima, Montana.
He started trucking again to help support the family. When his time away from home became too long, he sold his truck and started working on local ranches. It was 1996 when he, his wife and two children were baptized as born-again Christians.
A few years later, he was led by the Lord to go through seminary school to spread the Lord's message. He preached in Lima before accepting a pastor's position in Gooding, Idaho, and then another in Vida, Montana. After leaving Vida, he moved the family back to Lima where he worked odd jobs until he retired.
Chuck would occasionally fill the pulpit at Lima Community Church, but mostly he enjoyed tinkering and woodworking in his shop. He struggled with health problems the final years of his life, but he always had a positive outlook.
He passed peacefully on February 11, 2026, at home. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, his first daughter Tiffanee (John) Tucker, his second daughter Peggy (Stephen) Bauman, his son Mark (Chantel) Larsen, his brother Harvey Larsen, and his sister Christine Goble. He is also survived by his two grandsons, three granddaughters, and one great-grandson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Chuck's service will be held at the Lima Community Church on February 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service. Afterwards there will be a luncheon in the church basement. Everyone is welcome.
