Carolyn Young

Carolyn Ethel Young passed away November 15, 2023. She was born July 11, 1954 in Helena, MT to Mae and Ray Young. When Carolyn's parents divorced, May took the children to Dillon to earn a teaching degree. The family lived in Glendive, Three Forks, eventually back to Dillon where Carolyn's grandparents lived.

Carolyn attended Dillon schools graduating from Beaverhead County High school, when singing in church she realized she had a beautiful soprano voice where upon she took voice lessons from Pat Ori. Carolyn attended and graduated from Bob Jones Baptist College, then worked at Shepherds Home and school for several years. She nannied in Georgia and New York until coming back to Dillon in the early 1980's. The remainder of Carolyn's working years were spent in health care. Later in life she found joy in making quilts for family and church ministry.

Carolyn was saved at age 5 and a faithful church member here whole life. she was a generous hostess to family and missionaries whenever the need arose.

Carolyn is survived by her brother Elmer Young half sister Susan (Dan) Vander Zanden and half brother Gordon Young: sister-in-law Fran Kington: nieces Becky Kington (Pete), Stepi (Pat) Gannon, Loree (Todd) Flynn, nephews Mike (Barbara) Parmenter, Victor Duffin, Ken (Heather) Kington, and Dennis Kington, close cousins Norman (Theola) Gravely, Crissy (Levi) Strong and Justin & Creed Gravely.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mae and Ray Young, brothers Jim & Albert Kington & sister Katherine Duffin.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, November 20, 2023 at Brundage Funeral Home. Interment to follow with reception at First Baptist Church.
