Bert Erwin Robinson, age 90, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Dillon, Montana, on December 14, 2025. He was born on November 17, 1935, in Forest City, Iowa, to Bert and Laura Robinson, and lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and quiet strength.
Bert's early years were spent working on the family farm, where he learned the values of perseverance and responsibility that guided him throughout his life. It was there that he married his first wife, Joy Dee (Thompson) Bray, and together they welcomed his only daughter, Robin.
Following his divorce, Bert set out on an adventure to Alaska, where he worked on the North Slope Pipeline. While in Alaska, he met Mae, who would become his wife and devoted partner for the next 53 years. Through their marriage, Bert became a loving stepfather to Troy and Zane, embracing them as his own.
In 1978, Bert and Mae moved to Libby, Montana, where they purchased and operated the MK Steakhouse for 23 years. Their hard work and dedication made the restaurant a cherished local establishment. In 2001, they retired to their little farm in Dillon, Montana, where they enjoyed a quieter life surrounded by family and friends.
Bert loved the simple pleasures in life-a good steak, a cold beer, playing a lively game of cribbage, telling jokes with family and friends, and snow-birding with Mae in Mesquite, Nevada. There, they met a whole new circle of friends and enjoyed the warmer weather. Their family surprised them with a memorable 50th wedding anniversary celebration at their favorite Mesquite restaurant, with many in attendance.
A devoted husband and deeply committed family man, Bert placed great importance on caring for and supporting those he loved. Known for his steady presence, kind heart, and quick sense of humor, he touched many lives through his integrity, wisdom, and unwavering sense of responsibility.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Laura Robinson, and his brother, Kenneth and Phyllis Robinson.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Robinson, and brother, Philip Robinson; his children Robin and (Shapur) Majd, Troy and (Sue) Miller, and Zane and (Heather) Miller; nephews Theodore and Lucas Robinson; grandchildren Aveed and (Gary) Chavez, Mariam and (Ashley) Carpenter, Zohreh and (Tyler) Mancil, Shanda and (Dan) Grange, Danyelle and (Jared) Butler, Carlee Miller, Kiana Miller, Kailyn Miller, Aliyah and (Micheal) Forsyth-Miller, and Ariana Westby; and great-grandchildren Cyrus and Lucian Chavez, Conrad Carpenter, Caroline, Preston, and Eli Mancil, Payton, Lane, and Charlotte Hammond, Becket, Elle, and Georgia Grange, and Elijah, Kamdyn, and Xandon Miller.
Bert's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught, the example he set, and the love and laughter he shared. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The celebration of Bert's life will take place at Brundage Funeral Home, located at 300 S. Atlantic St., Dillon Mt. on Friday, May 8th, 2026. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember this great man.
