Jean Roedel

August 20, 1937 — January 24, 2022

Jean Marie Roedel of Dillon, Montana passed away from natural causes at her home of January 24, 2022. Jean was born in 1937 in Kalispell, Montana to Lillian and William Mikesell and spent her childhood years in Somers, MT. Jean attended Kalispell High school and graduated from there in 1955. In July of that year she would marry Don Roedel in Coeur d’Alene. ID. She attended Great Falls Business college Jean and Don migrated around SW Montana where she would work as a book keeper at Buttreys -Great Falls, Buchanan’s Mill- WSS, William’s Feed – Dillon, Independent grain- Belgrade, Bozeman Ford and Garrity Homes – Bozeman and finally owning and operating the Pack -N -Ship in Dillon (where she kept a jar labeled “Ashes of Problem Customers” on the counter). Jean and Don also spent 2 ½ years in the Indonesian islands where Don worked as an expatriate for Georgia Pacific Lumber. Jean loved to cook, watch cooking shows, quilt, work on puzzles, gardening and landscaping (one time she had Don haul a pickup load of volcanic rock home from the Montpelier area of Idaho for her rock garden), all types of arts, crafts and needlework, and tracking family on social media. She enjoyed reading her Bible, doing Bible studies, and listening to sermons from her favorite preachers. Jean made a profession of faith and began her spiritual journey and walk with her LORD in her early 20’s and grew closer to Him throughout her lifetime. She served in many capacities in the church and Sunday school, witnessing of her Savior to her family and friends. Jean was a member of the Prairie Bible Church family for many years, enjoying the ministry of Pastor Paul and Cyndi Peck. She was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, brother Ken Mikesell, and granddaughter Kelsey Dimick, and survived by sister Marilyn Schultz of Florence, her children Lori Crawford and Gayle Syck both of Dillon, and Mark Roedel (Heidi) of Kalispell, along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Our mom will be greatly missed, and her memory will remain with and encourage us while her spirit has joined Don with their Savior in Heaven. Cremation has already taken place, and a Memorial Service will take place in the summer. Those wishing to make memorial donations can do so to Prairie Bible Church, Dillon MT, or their favorite charity.
