Hazel Snellman

August 14, 1932 — September 29, 2018

Hazel Snellman, 86, of Medicine Lake died September 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Barrett Hospital in Dillon from complications from a severe stroke. She was born August 14, 1932 in Gladmar, Saskatchewan, one of nine children of Albert and Helga Norman. She married Kenneth Snellman on August 14, 1949. She was engaged in farming and ranching in Medicine Lake for many years. Shortly after the death of her husband in 1991 she moved to Townsend, MT. then to Dillon, MT. She worked at the museum in Dillon for a short time and really enjoyed the people and learning the history of Beaverhead County. She enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles, but what she loved the most was being with her grandchildren. She never wanted much for herself but was always willing to give to the others she loved. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Anna of Medicine Lake, Dan and Jane and Frank and Judy of Dillon, by three granddaughters, seven grandsons, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her sister Doreen Johnson (Dick) of Westby, MT. brother Alvin Norman and sister-in-law Dee Norman both of Portland, Oregon also survive as do numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, daughters Sharon and Verlayne, her father and mother, three sisters and three brothers. Her ashes will be laid to rest on the ranch in Medicine Lake with her husband and daughter. A service will be announced at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Barrett Hospital in Dillon for the loving care they provided their mother. Condolences may be made at www.brundagefuneralhome.com.
