Duane Eller

April 5, 1944 — October 4, 2017

Duane Dale Eller of Dillon Montana passed away October 4, 2017 after a long courageous battle with metastatic prostate cancer. He was born April 5, 1944 in Grangeville Idaho to Dale and Willetta (Carlson) Eller. He attended grade school and high school in Nezperce Idaho. During high school he worked for the state of Idaho and when he turned 18 the National Forrest Service. He attended Butte Business College in Butte Montana, where he met the love of his life, Joyce Marie Smith. They had been married for 53 years. He was drafted into the US Army in 1966, where he served in Germany before being honorably discharged. After his discharge he worked on his wife’s family ranch in Twin Bridges until it sold, where he went to work for Coast to Coast, Quality Supply, and eventually Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon before his health forced him to retire in 2011. He is survived by his wife and children, Stephanie Eller of Dillon, Chris & Nicole (Eller) Booth of Dillon, and Jerrod Eller and Jenn Hyett of Belgrade, three grandsons Ronnie Freeman, Michael & Sara Eller, Kyle Eller & Cheyenne Sands, and two granddaughters Alex Eller & “G” Eller, and was looking forward to meeting his future great grandbaby Eller next spring. He is also survived by sisters Becky Eller of Lewiston ID, Janine & Ron Porter of Coeur d’alene ID, Lori & Barry Estes of Boise ID, brother Timothy Eller of Nezperce ID and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharlyne Dinell, infant sister Kathleen Eller, and nephew Mike Porter. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be October 9, 2017 at 11:00 pm at Brundage Funeral Chapel in Dillon. Memorials in his honor can be made to the Dillon Cubs, American Legion or American Cancer Society.
