Chauncey Gene Shippee April 17, 1931 – July 29, 2021 C. Gene Shippee, passed away peacefully in Dillon, MT on July 29, 2021. Gene was born in DeKalb, NY on April 17, 1931 to Wesley Shippee and Ruth Grandy Shippee. He completed training as an x-ray technician in New Orleans, LA and moved to St. Louis, MO. It was there that he met his future wife, Evalina (Willie) Williams. They were married on April 4, 1959 in Aurora, MO. His career involved working in various hospitals in the Midwest including Jacksonville, IL, St. Louis, MO, Columbia, MO, Lincoln, NE, and Joplin, MO. The most treasured gifts that Gene received were his children, Kenda and Douglas, and both were delivered on Gene’s birthday. Gene was an active church member throughout his adult life and enjoyed gardening, boating and fishing, traveling, and in his retirement years, enjoying the beautiful Montana scenery. He loved spending time with family. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and all of his siblings, Keith, Alger, Richard, and Harvey Shippee and Carol Papp. Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Evalina (Willie), daughter Kenda (John) Madany, and son Douglas (Kim) Shippee, his 8 grandchildren: Jonathan (Courtney) Madany, Kaylyn Madany, Taylor Shippee, Joshua Madany, Rafe Diaz, Michael Shippee, Sarah Madany, and Gabrielle Diaz, his two great-granchildren: Kinsey Shippee and Colby Madany, and numerous nieces and nephews (of Uncle Cha). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church, Sebree & Idaho Streets, Dillon, MT. Memorial contributions may be made to Barrett Home Health & Hospice.
