Brenda Eccleston Morstein

January 20, 1940 — August 23, 2017

“An excellent wife who can find? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life” Prov 31:10-1. Brenda Glenn Eccleston Morstein died on August 23, 2017 due to complications from Alzheimer’s. Brenda was born in Anaconda, MT to Beth and Clyde Eccleston on January 12, 1940. Brenda was the 5th girl in a family of 7 children She grew up in Anaconda and had sweet memories of summers spent at her family cabin on Georgetown Lake. Brenda was an excellent student and graduated from Anaconda High and enrolled at Western Montana College in 1958. She was a cheerleader at WMC and fell in love with a football player, Joe Morstein. They married December 17, 1960. She completed a teaching certification in 1960. Brenda and Joe had 3 children, Jodi, Gregg, and Todd. She was an expert seamstress and quilter and loved making her home a beautiful and comfortable place. She found great joy in teaching reading, planning parties, and delighted in making Christmas incredibly special! She was an amazing giver of gifts! Joe and Brenda lived in Kalispell, Billings, Polson and returned to Dillon in 1972. Brenda was raised in the Christian Church and walked out her faith in big and small ways. She was always a gracious hostess and treated each visitor as a special guest. Brenda taught at Parkview Jr. High and Elementary and loved children’s books. She delighted in seeing grown children she knew from 2nd grade who she had help to learn to read. She treasured the friendships she built with her colleagues at Parkview Elementary. Gramma B,” BB”, or just plain “B” loved being a grandmother. She was the giver of Beanie Babies, American Girl dolls, Christmas ornaments, and terrific books. Her tea parties were always served on china. When cautioned, if she kept showing up with a present every time she visited her grandchildren they would grow to expect a gift …she replied, “that’s fine, I’m the Grandma” She is survived by her husband Joe of Dillon, children Jodi (Salt Lake City), Gregg (Dillon, MT), Todd and his wife Julie (Kalispell, MT) and grandchildren, Kait & Joseph Groot, Daniel, Allie, Grayson and Greer Morstein.
