Albert HInton

There is a commemoration of the life of Al Hinton and Shirley Harr scheduled for Thursday, March 5th at 1 PM with a graveside service for Al with military honors following at Mountain View Cemetery at 2 PM. Albert Earl Hinton was born August 5, 1930 in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Central High School in 1947 as the youngest member of his graduating class. He joined the Navy in June of 1949. He served in Memphis, Tennessee; Kodiak, Alaska; and Moffett Field, California. After being honorably discharged from the service in 1954, he went to work for McKesson and Robbins in Spokane, Washington. In 1957 he married Joan Griffith and they moved to Santa Clara, California, where he worked as a pharmaceutical salesman. In 1966, they moved to Cheney, Washington, and he worked as a toy and school supply salesman for nine years in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. In 1972 they moved to Townsend, Montana and hewent to work for the State of Montana Job Service. In 1977 he moved to Dillon, Montana, and worked as Job Service Manager. After retiring from the Job service he sold real estate and worked for Montana Agricultural Statistics. He is preceded in death by parents Palmer and Louise Hinton, brothers Jack and Mickey, and wife Joan. Survivors include: friend of 31 years, Shirley Harr; son Mark and wife Susan of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; two granddaughters Dylan and Morgan; son Jon of St. Paul, Minnesota; son Paul of Santa Cruz, California; and sister Joy Cooper of Green Acres, Washington. During time spent in Dillon, Al served as board member for the Dillon Chamber of Commerce; President of Kiwanis Club; Dillon Special Resources Trustee; Elks Lodge member; American Legion member.
