Bernice Nadeau

Bernice Nadeau passed away September 25, 2016 at Parkview Rehabilitation Center in Dillon, Montana. She was born to Opal Casto in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They lived with her grandparents where she attended Lima Elementary School until sixth grade. Bernie moved to Dillon to live with her aunt and uncle and graduated from Beaverhead High School in 1973. Bernie had many hobbies, crocheting being her favorite, then photography, and scrapbooking. Bernice married William Visser and together they had four children; James, Stephan, Elizabeth, and Jonathan. While living in Bozeman and Belgrade they divorced. She later married Reuben Nadeau and moved to Hamilton where she worked at a café in Missoula and a daycare in Hamilton. She later opened her own daycare in her home. She loved the kids and they all called her Nana. She attended their activities as they grew up and was able to stay in touch with many of them, often they brought their own children to meet her. Bernie moved to Dillon in 2012 bringing her grandson Gavin Nadeau with her. She worked at College Daycare and at the museum before her health forced her to retire. Preceding her in death were her parents Opal and Wilbur, grandparents; Roy and Nellie McNich, aunts Mary Rolles and Mabel Jackson. She is survived by her four children and her grandchildren; Gavin Nadeau, Lorissa Visser, Triston Visser, Dale Visser and Kerry Visser. Her aunts; Betty Tyler, Bessie Reeves, and her very special friend Chris Reynolds. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at her request. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery with her uncle Ed Tyler. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation of to Charity of Choice.
